Program Management is the process of managing multiple projects from inception through completion, aiding clients in formulating long term (often decades) approaches to challenges that cannot be addressed in one project or in short time frames.  Programs sometime consist of dozens or hundreds or projects and even more contractors, engineers, and permitting agencies.

Included in many programs are preliminary planning, environmental study, conceptual design, construction funding, final plans, construction management, residential inspection, and project closeout; in this fashion the program manager can observe schedule and finances throughout the entire duration of the project and allow the client a single point of contact to obtain all information and better control and understand the projects’ status from inception to completion.  Examples where clients often seek such services include state-wide roadway improvements; municipality-wide water, sewer, drainage, or street improvements; or large private investments that consist of multiple projects in an effort to reach a single final goal (such as developing a site in order to construct a large business park).

GEC has for many years conducted program management services for programs in excess of $2 billion in construction, design, planning, and study.  GEC has been hired by large public clients in order to accelerate schedule, reduce costs, and improve owner control and communication.

GEC maintains a staff of engineers, planners, scientists, and economists that we are able to quickly employ and in order to confidently address the myriad of needs presented in complex programs.
