Client: Harris County Flood Control District
Completion Date: N/A
As part of an overall effort to develop flood control features in a watershed in Houston, Texas, GEC conducted a conceptual-level master planning study that addressed recreation opportunities for neighboring communities. Recommendations are intended to enhance the right-of-way within the riparian corridor along Lower Brays Bayou and detention basins planned for water storage. This study will assist the Harris County Flood Control District (HCFCD) in developing flood control features in an aesthetic, environmentally sensitive manner while planning for future recreation needs. The project included GIS-based site analysis, program development (based on neighborhood input and discussions with HCFCD officials), detention basin recreation master plan, bikeway/trail master plan, and cost estimates for the total project.
