This project consisted of the engineering design and preparation of Plans and Specifications for Upper Mississippi River and Tributaries flood protection for the cities of Festus and Crystal City, Missouri. The design consisted of a fully automated 120 cfs pump station and levee system to protect the waste water treatment plant and major highway connecting the cities. This included 2,600 feet of new levee, sewer relocations, road relocations, channel relocations and borrow area sizing. All aspects of the project were designed to minimize the impact on adjacent environmentally sensitive areas and required the incorporation of 700 feet of mechanically stabilized earth wall.
