GEC applied and obtained a National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit for the Greater New Orleans Expressway Commission (GNOEC) for the bridge tenders' facility at the bascule bridge located at mile marker 16 of the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway. The Lake Pontchartrain Causeway is the 24-mile long bridge, which consists of two 2-lane spans running parallel across Lake Pontchartrain connecting Jefferson Parish on the south shore and St. Tammany Parish on the north shore. GEC provides operational input, sample collection and analysis, discharge monitoring report preparation, and coordination with regulatory agencies on behalf of the GNOEC.
