GEC helped develop the methodology for and conduct an inventory of the electrical system for the Lafayette consolidated government. This project included developing a geodatabase interface that accommodates the variety of equipment and connections that can be found throughout the electrical system, collecting all 140,000+ electrical system features using GPS, and entering the data into the geodatabase structure so that it accurately represents both the inventory and geography of the system. Upon completion, LUS had been delivered a complete inventory of their system that they will maintain and use in outage management.
